This document addresses emergency preparedness with respect to issues that occur on the racetrack during training and racing and management of jockeys and racing personnel who may have sustained critical injuries. Racetracks are expected to have separate response procedures in place, with a different set of emergency medical services, for incidents that occur in the grandstand, any casino, if applicable, and other public areas; such procedures are outside the scope of this document.
This document may serve as a template for tracks to use in creating their own EAP by inserting venue-specific information and content, where indicated by yellow highlighting. Track medical personnel may also customize the template by making other appropriate revisions to ensure that the final document follows all regional protocols and accounts for track-specific needs.
