Moss is a former chief prosecutor from Des Moines, Iowa, and a practicing attorney. She is a Thoroughbred owner with horses racing in Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana and New York. In 2006, Moss became the first woman in America since 1945 to be named leading owner in the country for races won. In 2007, she was named “National Owner of the Year” by the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association. She has been the leading owner at multiple tracks, including Aqueduct, Belmont Park, Fair Grounds and Prairie Meadows. She has won multiple graded stakes, including two grade 1s. Moss won her first grade 1 in the 2012 Spinaway Stakes with So Many Ways at Saratoga Race Course. Moss is deeply committed to the aftercare and welfare of Thoroughbreds and actively looks for ways to improve former racehorses’ lives when their racing and breeding careers have ended.
